Welcome to My Professional Portfolio
I am Dr. Roslinawati, or simply Roslynn, a passionate educator and researcher committed to advancing educational excellence. Since joining the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education at Universiti Brunei Darussalam in 2004, I have had the privilege of contributing to the development of future educators through the Master of Teaching (MTeach) programmes. My role encompasses designing and delivering specialised modules that empower aspiring teachers to excel in their profession, fostering innovative practices and meaningful learning experiences.
Academic Focus
As an educator, I take pride in shaping the future of teaching through a diverse range of modules that are foundational to Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education. My teaching responsibilities are centred on fostering critical thinking, innovative practices, and evidence-based methodologies across various levels of education.
In the Master of Teaching (MTeach) programme, I contribute to both Primary and Secondary Education streams by delivering specialised modules that prepare educators to excel in their teaching contexts. These modules include, but are not limited to:
-
Primary Science Education: Equipping future teachers with the knowledge and skills to inspire curiosity and scientific inquiry among young learners.
-
Secondary Science Education: Developing the expertise of teacher candidates to effectively teach science at the secondary school level, with a focus on subject-specific pedagogy and engagement strategies.
-
Language and Teaching: Exploring the interplay between language, communication, and pedagogy to enhance instructional practices in multilingual and multicultural classrooms.
-
Assessment for Learning: Guiding educators in implementing formative and summative assessment strategies to improve student outcomes and inform teaching practices.
-
Research Methods: Providing teacher candidates with the tools to critically evaluate and conduct educational research, including a focus on literature reviews and action research methodologies.
-
STEM Education: Emphasising the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in teaching practices to prepare students for a rapidly evolving world.
Through these modules, I strive to cultivate reflective practitioners who can adapt to diverse educational landscapes and drive positive change in their classrooms.
